This year John Bunyan Baptist Church celebrates its 75th Anniversary.  The church Opened on 23 April 1939 the first worshipping community met in what is now the café.  A larger church built 2 years later would go on and serve the fellowship for the next 22 years until the present church was opened in 1964.

John Bunyan Baptist Church was a planted by New Road Baptist Church with the support of the local Baptist Association and as part of a national campaign to establish new congregations in the new housing developments of the 1930s.

The Church Anniversary will take place on Easter Sunday 20 April.  Since June 2013 Leading up to this we have invited former ministers, student pastors  and leaders from the church to share in worship.  In recognition of the beginnings of the church’s story we began with a joint service at New Road Baptist Church in June 2013 and our final service before the anniversary will welcome the President of the Baptist Union, Revd. Ernie Whalley on 9 March.
