Broom Tree Cafe
Opened in 2004 by Lord Melvyn Bragg the café was set up with a generous grant from Barclays and the support of Oxford City Council and the Baptist Union. This is the heart of the Ark T Centre where people are able to meet and enjoy great food at good prices surrounded by a gallery of imaginative art.

As well as providing great food, the café provides great opportunities for training for independent living. Paid staff are supported by a team of volunteers and people on placement who receive training in catering and food preparation.
The café is open Monday – Friday 10am – 3pm and offers a wide range of high quality coffee and tea, stunning chocolate, soft drinks, milk shakes with real fruit, baguettes, jacket potatoes, and a varied menu of main courses throughout the week. It uses locally grown fruit and vegetables and offers fairly traded products (including all the tea and coffee).
Promoting healthy eating, the café was featured in the Oxford Times as offering ‘freshly cooked food from wholesome ingredients’ with ‘Great food at great prices’.
